How to Find Your Passion

  • Experiment with new things! - No, the couch isn't going to speak to you one day and tell you where your heart lies. You have to put that bag of potato chips down and go for it. It could literally be anything. You have to start somewhere, so just do it. (Nike wasn't started by someone who just sat on their butt, right?)

  • So you knitting wasn't your thing? That's totally okay! It's all about taking that step to try something new. Maybe knitting wasn't your favorite but hey you like to write! Write paragraphs, short stories, write, write, write. Eventually that could turn into articles for a magazine or even the New York Times bestselling book.

  • You've found a new interest...what next? Learn, learn, learn. Take in as much knowledge as you can. Reach out to people for help. Ask people their ways. There are people out there that want to help you. You think I learned how to work all my editing programs on my own? NO. Heck, I didn't even know how to use manual settings on a camera on my own. What even are those??? I know now. Because I asked. Think it's embarrassing to ask someone for help? Definitely not. That person that you want to ask didn't to get to the place that they are at alone. Everyone has been in that position. What have you got to lose?

  • Take more risks! Go big or go home right? Take it to the next level. Expand a little more, reach out to a further audience. You have a little more knowledge under your belt now; you got this. Spread those wings and fly!

  • One more small tidbit: learning never stops. There are always new ways of doing things. Whether it's by way of watching a video, asking for advice, etc... There are always resources available to keep you on your toes.

Bottomline: if you aren't happy, do something about it. If you feel like you could be doing more, you probably can. Do it, you CAN do it.
