Being a better YOU

Recently I have felt so incredibly at peace with where I am in life. Worrying less about the things that don't benefit me and more about the things I want to do with my life. How did I make this happen? Well I have watched @chickaartistica slay everyone in the social media world with her constant postings on instagram and her blog. In watching this, I thought wow that'd be cool. One day I decided to change that "that'd be cool" into woah look at what I'm accomplishing. Though I took the week off from blogging last week, I'm back to the grind with senior season in full swing and with a lot of new content coming.
Here's how I got on the road to becoming a better me:
Thinking less about the negatives by focusing on the things I want to make happen.
"I found that when you start thinking and saying what you really want then your mind automatically shifts and pulls you in that direction. And sometimes it can be simple, just a little twist in vocabulary that illustrates your attitude and philosophy."- Jim Rohn
It's a proven fact that whatever you focus on comes to be. This makes sense right...because the way you view things is what your mindset will be, what your actions will produce because of that mindset. Probably the most important thing is to focus on the positives in any situation. Or maybe not in that situation, but the happy place you want to be at in the future...at that point your present will fall into place because you'll do anything to make that happen.
Doing what you think is cool.
You thinking something is cool probably means that part of you wants to do it yourself. DO it. I thought it was so cool that Meghan (I talk about her a lot I know but she's the bomb) posts all the time, so I started to write more blog posts. Maybe I didn't get the most views, but that didn't matter. I feel SO accomplished by checking stuff like that off my to-do list- the to-do list of things that usually get pushed to the side. Aside from the postings, one of my goals for the year was to do more collabs with other businesses. Without even thinking anything about this goal, I decided to do a giveaway with three fabulous boss babes just for the exposure and for the sake of helping each other out. A little bit after the fact, I remembered this goal and thought WOW I just accomplished part of that. It's the most amazing feeling. All it takes is a little effort.
Don't make excuses.
One of my struggles is balancing schoolwork and the whole social media thing. We all have things that we could be doing, but if you want to produce results, you have to make time. A lot of times it takes pushing yourself past your comfort-zone in order to make things happen. You CAN handle way more than you think you can. It's all about your mindset.
Just do your thing.
There is such thing as taking it too far. If you have worked day in and day out, YES you need a break. Treat yourself. Neglecting yourself will only make you fall back. We must find a balance between self-motivation and going beyond our limits. You can handle more than you think you can. But ALWAYS remember the reason for why you started. Don't make yourself hate what you LOVE to do, but do it to the best of your ability.
